Being a Principal Content Strategist at Ancestry is the culmination of all the things I love most about Content Strategy as a practice. I run a horizontal team so I have a holistic view of the product, and I can make an impact whether it’s behind the scenes or front & center. I’m involved in new features, enhancements, and tech debt-tackling projects every day that move the UX forward in a positive way. And the best part? I’m joined by incredibly talented folks who are all on a constant mission to bring self-discovery and connection to more people.

A few highlights:

  • Worked horizontally across 50+ scrum teams, coordinating with 40+ PMs; 35+ UX designers, and 10+ UX researchers

  • Coordinated with UXR, PM, and Design to launch over 200 experiments

  • Helped strategically and tactically launch over 100 enhancements and new features in the product

  • Spearheaded prompt engineering for the first customer-facing use of LLM 

  • Piloted content component library/design system

As the Senior UX Content Strategist at Happy Money, I called both the Product & UX teams "home"—but also spent a ton of time partnering with Marketing, Brand, Member Experience (customer service), and other teams. My role was equal parts operational, strategic, and tactical—all unified by the goal of creating a more cohesive, consistent, and scalable content practice. I piloted new tools to pull fragmented copy & content development out of their silos, built content component libraries to create parity across all our touchpoints, and updated copy & flow in all our products.

As Senior Manager of Content Strategy, I had the opportunity to get my hands on a ton of projects across all stages of their lifecycles—from building the strategy, to executing the tactics, and everything in between. You could find me auditing, mapping, modeling, and writing content with one hand, while collaborating with design, UX research, data & insights, development, and client teams with the other.

Along with a deeply collaborative team of designers, strategists, and developers, I helped take marketing campaigns and website redesign projects from concept to launch—and we sure had a great time doing it!
